With an RTS economy that goes on forever that would have kept going on. Trench warfare where both sides lost and won ground very slowly. Retreating in horror maybe as many as three pixels!Įxample2: The westfront in WW1 was a stalemate. Mass up towers and on top of that have a huge ranged arsenal. And there opponents would wall layer after layer. Basically there was only a few open paths thru the forest to your opponent. That isn't fun I can assure you.Įxample: in AoK and AoC many of the new players played a very unique map called Black Forest. With walls you could turn games into stalemates. I think it seems as the defender already has some pretty good help due to the attrition system. Walls may turn out in fact to be a looser's strategy but I think it would make that one civ that much more unique, and it would look cool for the Chinese to be able to have Great Wall of China/ Wallup and help prevent a rush or at least make people take the less desired route vs the cost of the walls, that could have gone to advancing in tech/age/military. So its would be a strategic trade off for say a Chinese player. The walls would be good for early ages, but when seige and gunpower comes it would be pretty useless. So that seems like an ideal basis for a unique civ power. So what about having it as a special civ power for just Chinese? I mean they were the only ones really to have a mondo wall that stretched the length of its country. I like to have walls of some sort obvious by now thats clear.īut the peeps at BHG and others have made a good case why walls in RoN with attrition would be too much, and lead to too much off a turtler's game.
